Like most social media platforms, LinkedIn has its own set of rules that we need to follow. The better you are at playing their game, the more you'll be rewarded.
It’s no surprise that having a strong LinkedIn practice is imperative for growth on LinkedIn.
My impressions were up 1172.8% over 90 days because of a few simple factors.
Do you want to know my super awesome, hook-worthy special sauce? 🤫
Well, it's not that super.
Or special.
Or saucy.
But it's awesome and it works.
LinkedIn gives us tools such as carousels, videos, polls, and images. The algorithm rewards us when we utilize these features.
LinkedIn created these features for a purpose and when we are in their arena, we need to play by their rules even if that feels strange or foreign to us.
Similar to Reels, Stories, or Carousels on Instagram, we WIN when we show these platforms that we are participating by using the features they have built for us.
It's consistent posting and engagement, with a sprinkling of understanding your audience.
It's posting when you have a hard time creating content.
It's posting even when you don't get the response you wanted.
It's posting when imposter syndrome busts in to say "Hey, you suck lol".
Posting consistently lets people know you are serious, earning their trust to value your opinions.
Don't expect people to trust your opinions immediately. Earn it. Consistency is the foundation for growth and trust-building.
Think about it.
If you want people to like, comment, or repost your content, you also need to do that.
LinkedIn is about community and connection, and if you are not genuinely connecting with your network, your posts fall into the same meaningless category as so many others.
That’s not to say you have bad content, or that what you have to say is meaningless.
It means you need to focus on nurturing the network you’re cultivating before you expect people to start liking, sharing, and reposting your content.
Comment authentically, reach out with a meaningful message before you connect with someone, and support their growth as well.
Keep in mind, that all ships rise with the tide.
